Vanderburgh County's mandatory retirement plan is through the State of Indiana and is named Public Employees Retirement Fund
(PERF). Contributions are mandatory for any full time employee. The exceptions are Sheriff's Deputies who contribute
to the Sheriff's Retirement Fund.
PERF Facts
- Mandatory 3% employee contribution on gross wages. Exceptions are employees under collective bargaining units;
employee contributions are paid by Vanderburgh County.
- Vanderburgh County contributes 6% of employee's gross wages into the PERF fund.
- 10 years to be vested in PERF program.
- Service with other government units can be credited towards vestment.

To change your address with PERF, use this form to fill in your current and new address (or name change) and print.
This will only change your address with PERF. You also need to change your address with:
- payroll (see Address Change link to left under Forms)
- and insurance (see Insurance Policies link to the left under Benefits).

To direct an investment change on your employee contributions with PERF, print an Investment Direction Form.

To print a change of beneficiary form, use this link. This form
does have to be witnessed when signed and beneficiaries' social security numbers are required. It is suggested that this form
be returned to Jane Laib in the Bookkeeping Department of the Auditor's Office and she will forward to PERF.

does have to be signed by a representative of Vanderburgh County. After filling out this form, please print, sign, and
return to Jane Laib in the Bookkeeping Department of the Auditor's Office and she will forward to PERF. Please note
that only the last 4 pages need to be printed.
