Insurance Policies

Vanderburgh County provides medical group health insurance and life insurance for elected officials and full-time County employees. The County Auditor manages these benefits for all eligible County employees with the exception of the life insurance policies for the Vanderburgh County Sheriff's deputies.

Life Insurance

Effective April 1, 2005, a new Term Life and Accidental Death and Dismemberment Insurance policy will be carried through MetLife on all eligible Vanderburgh County employees.
  • Eligible employees age 64 and under will receive $15,000 of coverage.
  • Eligible employees age 64 and over will receive $10,000 of coverage.
  • Cost will be a penny a month.

  • Please fill out and return all re-enrollment forms (with updated beneficiaries) distributed with the 4/15/05 payroll to Jane Laib by May 1, 2005. The Auditor's Office will then forward a copy of the new policy to employees.
  • Health Insurance

    The County offers three health plans, a dental plan, and a vision plan. Listed in the table below, are the plans available and monthly costs for 2008. Links to the providers are also provided to contact your plan and inform them of any address changes. All other changes (including any changes on dependents) should be directed to Jane Laib, Insurance/Retirement Bookkeeper.

    Group Health Insurance Plan for Retired County Employees

    Pursuant to I.C. 5-10-8-2.6, the group health insurance program, as provided to full-time Vanderburgh County employees, is hereby made available to qualified retired Vanderburgh County Employees. Use the Retirement link to the left under Benefits to see the qualifications.
