General Assembly of the State of Indiana
Thursday, December 20, 2007 the Vanderburgh
County Auditor will mail out over 44,000 homestead rebate checks in the amount
of $8,745,000 due to tax relief provided by the Indiana General Assembly. The
check will be mailed to the last known address of each person liable for any
property taxes or special assessments on taxes paid in 2007 with a valid
homestead exemption. Checks will be mailed to the same address used for the Spring 2007 tax billing. If you have moved or have a
forwarding address on file with the Post Office, the check should be forwarded.
Due to the busy postal season, please allow a
week for your rebate check to arrive. Inquiries
can be made at the Auditor’s Office after January 2, 2008. To contact the

Partial rebate checks and no refund notification
letters will be sent at a later date to those owing delinquent taxes. The

owed. Questions on these adjusted amounts
should be directed to the Treasurer’s Office at 435-5248.
