County Engineer |
President Korb: Department heads. You all, John?
John Stoll: (Inaudible).
Madelyn Grayson: John, is the microphone on?
John Stoll: It should be now. Is it? Okay. Two items, the first is a request to have you sign the cover sheet for the Allen’s Lane bridge plans. This is for the rehab of the bridge on Allen’s Lane over Locust Creek. It’s about halfway between St. Joe Avenue and Mill Road. I’m sorry, St. Joe Avenue and Mesker Park Drive. The project consists of a new bridge deck, a new bridge rail, and potentially new beams. I just need your signatures on the cover sheet.
Commissioner Nix: So moved.
Commissioner Tornatta: Second.
President Korb: Discussion? Seeing none, all those in favor say aye.
All Commissioners: Aye.
President Korb: Opposed same sign. The motion passes.
John Stoll: The other item is a request from CCC of Evansville for a four day extension on the completion date for the Hogue Road culvert out at Vanness. This, the reason for the extension is because of all the rain we’ve had, that’s delayed them. Then, also, we had to add a curb at the northeast corner of the intersection due to the change in grade. We didn’t anticipate that originally.
President Korb: How’s that coming along, Mr. Stoll?
John Stoll: It should be opened by the end of the day on Thursday.
President Korb: Great. Good.
John Stoll: I just need your approval on the time extension, because the original completion date would have been Monday.
President Korb: Need a motion.
Commissioner Tornatta: So moved.
Commissioner Nix: Second.
President Korb: Discussion? Seeing none. All those in favor say aye.
All Commissioners: Aye.
President Korb: Opposed same sign. The motion passes.
John Stoll: That’s all I have.
President Korb: You’re kidding? That’s great.
John Stoll: Every now and then it happens.
President Korb: Thanks, John. Appreciate it. Any other department heads that are out there that wish to speak? Great. Mr. Ziemer? Never mind.
New Business |
President Korb: New business? We got any new business?
Commissioner Nix: No, but I would like to add that the Wedgewood Room is now open for business, for leases and rentals. That’s in the Old Courthouse. A beautiful facility, and, Marissa, if you have anything to add to that at all? But, I don’t know that we’ve got anything on the books right now. We did have a wedding reception there last weekend. It’s a great facility, 150 to 200 people, for weddings, wedding receptions, bar mitzvah’s, anything like that at all, it’s available from now pretty well until eternity.
President Korb: The cost?
Commissioner Nix: Five hundred dollars? Yeah, five hundred per day, or not day, but per event. You can either book through, yeah, book through us, or, okay, only through the Commission office at this time. But, I would like to see that get filled up quick, and I’m sure it will once the word gets out.
President Korb: New business, we’ve got a road hearing Wednesday night, is that right?
Commissioner Nix: Tomorrow evening.
President Korb: Tomorrow evening, 6:00 at Plaza school. Troy, when is yours?

Commissioner Tornatta: Uh-huh.
President Korb: Great. We got anything else? Any other new business?
